Research Line 3 – Active Life Strategies, Quality, and Well-being

Achieving genuine equality between women and men, as well as ensuring accessibility for persons with disabilities, is a fundamental dimension of the protection and promotion of citizens’ rights. From this principle arises the need to act upon opportunities, guaranteeing that every citizen, regardless of age, enjoys equal access in the various spheres of life related to active living, quality of life, and well-being.

In this context, and as a priority, the promotion of public policies of social justice aimed at combating discrimination — with the goal of fostering true equality of opportunity — was considered essential. Responding to this challenge involves developing strategies for active living, quality of life, and well-being as a fundamental principle of good governance.

These strategies will enable the design of integrated and coherent approaches to gender equality, accessibility for persons with disabilities, citizenship, and non-discrimination. They aim to prevent situations of risk, based on the shared responsibility of various social partners who support the development of local strategies oriented towards promoting an active life, quality of life, and well-being for all citizens.
